Aboard S/V Tantrum: A 2005 Fountaine Pajot 43 Belize Owners

A cabin-by-cabin walkthrough of a well-kept owners-version catamaran with a full-beam private suite, watermaker and spares aplenty.

There’s a certain honesty to a walkthrough filmed by someone who clearly knows every locker on the boat. That’s what you get with S/V Tantrum, a 2005 Fountaine Pajot 43 Belize in owners layout, presented by Marianne. No music, no drone shots — just a steady tour from the saloon down into both hulls, opening cupboards as she goes.

Saloon and galley

The tour starts in the saloon, where the dinette table drops to convert into a berth for two extra guests. The galley sits to one side with a cutting board, oven, generous cupboard space, a bin, and a fridge and freezer deep enough that Marianne can’t quite reach the bottom — a small moment that tells you more about the storage than any spec sheet would. Overhead there are lights and two forward hatches, with sun covers for the front windows stored below.

Nav station and systems

The instrument panel carries Furuno electronics, a second display, radios, the main electrical panel and the watermaker controls. Nearby, Marianne points out spare anodes for both engines — the first of several spares stashes revealed during the tour, alongside tools and a fire extinguisher. Bilge pumps and the systems panel get a nod too.

Accommodation

The guest hull holds an aft double and a forward cabin, each with cupboard space, sharing a head with shower and, as Marianne puts it, a toilet with a view. Sheets, outdoor cushions, rain covers and sun covers all live in here, along with mosquito screens for the windows and a curtain for privacy. Sails are stowed low in the hull to keep the weight down.

The opposite hull is given over entirely to the owners: warm wood joinery, portholes above the bed, storage under the berth and in multiple cupboards, a television with video, a sofa that doubles as a berth, and a desk holding the manuals and ship’s books. The private head includes a toilet, sink, shower and a washing machine, with yet more stowage — plus additional sails and paddleboards.

Where the market sits

For context, four FP 43 Belize catamarans have sold in the past 24 months at a median of $204,500, taking around 188 days each. Three are currently listed.

The recurring theme of the video is preparedness: covers for the sun, screens for the bugs, spares for the engines, tools for the jobs. As Marianne says plainly, she’s well-maintained.
