Inside M/Y Margaritaville: A 2018 Great Harbour TT 35 Trawler

A trailerable pocket trawler that lives far larger than its 35 feet suggests — with an apartment-size galley, a real queen berth, and cottage-style charm throughout.

Great Harbour Trawlers sales manager Eric Kraft leads the walkthrough of M/Y Margaritaville, a 2018 TT 35 that happens to be hull number two — a boat with a few charming quirks compared to the current production run, and a layout that makes an unusually strong case for cruising in a footprint you can still put on a trailer.

A Cockpit Built for Living

The tour opens in a genuinely spacious cockpit, flanked by cushioned bench seating on both sides. Storage under those benches is deep enough for bicycles, a dinghy, or a generator — a nod to the TT 35’s practical, expedition-minded design. A sliding door and a flip-up pass-through window connect the cockpit to the galley, making entertaining or provisioning underway effortless.

Galley and Main Saloon

Step inside and the galley immediately reads more apartment than boat. There’s a two-burner induction cooktop, a full-size home sink, a large microwave/convection oven, mahogany cabinetry, and solid-surface countertops. The teak-and-holly soles (faux on this hull; real on newer boats) lift to reveal the fresh water pump, hot water heater, and batteries. Across the way sits the showstopper: a full apartment-size Energy Star refrigerator/freezer — no dorm-fridge compromise here.

Forward of the galley, a settee to starboard faces a versatile dinette to port. The dinette bench has a flip-flop back that converts it from an aft-facing dining seat into a forward-facing navigation seat with a proper lit chart table. The table itself folds out to seat up to six, then drops down with filler cushions to form a second berth. Pleated blinds cover every window, and LED lighting washes the overhead.

A Surprisingly Generous Head

The head is a standout for any 35-foot boat — separate stall shower with room for a full-size adult, a large vanity with hot and cold water, a medicine cabinet, and a rubber sole for easy cleanup. This particular boat has the optional electric head in place of the standard Nature’s Head composting unit.

Helm and Side Decks

The helm is set well forward but visibility aft is better than expected. A flip-up helm seat, a sliding side door, and a flip-up spring cleat make single-handing straightforward. Margaritaville carries the standard Garmin electronics package plus optional upgrades: a proportional bow thruster, Garmin autopilot, and electronic throttles. Wide walkaround side decks are accessible from either the cockpit or the helm door.

Master Stateroom

Down forward, the master carries a true 60-by-80 island queen — standard queen sheets fit — atop a memory foam mattress, with drawers and a trap for storage beneath. Four port lights and an overhead hatch keep things bright. Hanging lockers flank the aft end of the berth (the space that once held a washer/dryer is being finished out as an additional locker), and the 12-volt and 120-volt electrical panels live above the port-side locker.
