Aboard S/V Solis I: A Liveaboard-Ready Lagoon 380 S2

A walkthrough of this 2014 Lagoon 380 S2 reveals a catamaran set up by owners who clearly live aboard — watermaker, lithium bank, washing machine and all.

Some boat tours are about polished joinery. This one, led by seller David through S/V Solis I, is about how a 2014 Lagoon 380 S2 actually works when people live on it full time. The camera moves through the bridgedeck saloon and down the port hull, and every stop reveals a practical decision someone made after real time at anchor.

A galley built for cooking, not just heating

The tour begins in the main cabin at the galley, where there’s both a gas hob and a separate electric induction top — plus an extra section of bench that sits over the gas hob to expand the counter when you’re not cooking. Above sits a multifunction oven that doubles as an air fryer, toaster and microwave, with the Starlink router mounted at the top. David notes that the kitchen appliances, crockery, cutlery and baking goods all come with the boat. The main fridge earns a specific compliment on the walkthrough, and one of the nearby hatches holds the anchor windlass remote, which reaches both the bow and the cockpit.

Saloon, nav station and storage

The lounge is currently arranged in day-bed configuration, with the centre table raising to become a dining table. Storage lives under all of the seating — a point David returns to more than once. An Alpine sound system feeds speakers inside and out, and two portable fridge-freezers are aboard. The nav table sits to one side with the main electrical panel above it, and there are fans inside. Curtains exist for all the windows; the current owners simply don’t use them, so they’re stowed.

Port hull: owner’s cabin, head and a working garage

The port aft cabin serves as the owners’ cabin, with a fan and reading lights aft, storage along both sides of the bed, under the bed, beneath the escape hatch, and a wardrobe. Crucially for a cruising buyer, the lithium batteries, chargers and inverter live under this berth with easy access. A fire extinguisher is fitted here, as in all the rooms.

Step into the port companionway and you’ll find a small bookshelf holding the boat papers and service manuals, plus the watermaker control panel. The port head includes a hand bidet, an electric toilet, cupboard and under-sink storage, and access to the seacocks. Forward on the port side, the cabin has been converted into a laundry and garage: a full-size 7 kg washing machine, storage under the forward bed, a wardrobe to starboard of the doorway, and the watermaker itself tucked beneath the bed.

For a buyer who wants to leave the dock rather than start a refit list, the appeal here is obvious: the systems that usually cost time and money — watermaker, lithium, Starlink, laundry — are already installed and, just as importantly, reachable.
