A well-traveled, solar-heavy four-cabin Lagoon 42 with Starlink, lithium and a motivated seller docked in catamaran-country Texas.
Chris Block of The Multihull Company walks us through S/V Blue Pearl Too, a 2017 Lagoon 42 hull number 103 now for sale in Kemah, Texas — the self-styled catamaran capital of the Gulf Coast, just south of Houston. This four-cabin, four-head charter-layout cat spent its early years crewed-charter in the Mediterranean, was purchased by a private owner who cruised the Med, then made the transatlantic delivery under her own power to Texas. With the owner now back in Europe and his sailing plans behind him, Block describes the seller as very motivated.
A serious off-grid setup
The stand-out story on this Lagoon 42 is her energy system. The current owner has fitted roughly 2,000 watts of solar — split between a well-supported stern gantry and the coach roof — feeding 1,200 amp-hours of lithium batteries and a 3,000-watt Victron inverter. The result, per Block, is a boat that can run its single air-conditioning unit without touching the onboard generator or shore power. A watermaker (also inverter-fed) rounds out the blue-water package, alongside Starlink that was already earning its keep on the Atlantic crossing for weather, safety and entertainment.

Deck and cockpit
Block highlights a signature Lagoon 42 improvement over the older 450: wide sugar-scoop walkways and three gradual steps up to a single-level teak deck, so you’re not climbing over the boat to move fore and aft. The alfresco dining table seats eight, and with all three saloon doors slid away the cockpit and interior become one continuous space. Sail-handling gear includes an electric winch, roller-furling jib, electric windlass, a bowsprit rigged for a symmetric or asymmetric spinnaker, and an upgraded Rocna 33 anchor. Instruments are a full B&G suite, and the helm carries the cockpit enclosure and windshield.
Interior layout
Inside, this is the four-cabin, four-head charter version — not the three-cabin owner’s layout — which makes sense given the boat’s captained-charter history. The saloon feels larger than a 42 has any right to, with a full galley, protected sea-going workspace, and a nav/command station that also handles stereo, air-conditioning controls and monitoring. Beyond the standard fridge and drop-in freezer inside, an aftermarket fridge/freezer has been added in the cockpit. The electrics are 230-volt European, worth noting for U.S. buyers planning shore-power use.

Where she sits in the market
The Lagoon 42 remains in production, so the used market has depth. Recent site data shows 21 Lagoon 42s sold in the last 24 months at a median of $400,000, and 18 currently active listings asking between $299,000 and $649,000.
