A shortened rig for ICW access, $55,000 in upgrades and true off-grid systems make this owner-version cat a passage-ready package.
Valerie Toomey of The Multihull Company opens her walkthrough of S/V Reunited with the detail that frames the whole boat: over $55,000 in upgrades, aimed squarely at blue water cruising. This 2017 Lagoon 42 is the Owner Version, and the tour makes clear it has been set up by people who actually use it.
Rig and sailing setup
The mast has been shortened to allow ICW access — a meaningful practical choice for East Coast cruisers who would rather not detour offshore around fixed bridges. To recover performance, a new Doyle roach mainsail adds sail area, while a self-tacking jib keeps her easy to handle shorthanded. An asymmetric spinnaker is aboard for downwind passages.

Deck, helm and cockpit
Forward, Toomey points out generous forepeak stowage plus two large deck lockers. The elevated helm is fully enclosed, with good visibility and central line control. The cockpit is built for living: dining seating, a lounging area and an extra fridge. Aft are dinghy davits, a spot for the barbecue and a fish-cleaning station, with engine room access through the aft engine locker.
Interior
The salon is bright with 360-degree views, a nav station and a U-shaped galley with plenty of cold storage. The starboard owner’s suite includes generous storage, a washer-dryer, a workspace and a large head with walk-in shower. To port, two guest cabins each have en suite heads; the forward one is currently used as storage with direct access to the forepeak.

Off-grid capability
For extended time away from the dock, Reunited carries a watermaker, generator, solar panels and a lithium battery bank, plus complete ground tackle with primary and secondary anchors.
