The video is less a cabin tour than an introduction to Cal — a West Palm Beach catamaran broker who actually lives aboard one.
Some listing videos walk you bow to stern. This one does something different: it introduces you to the person on the other end of the phone. Cal, the broker representing the 2004 Lagoon 570 S/V FUTUNA, films from the water in West Palm Beach and spends a few candid minutes explaining how he got here.
The short version: he grew up on the rivers around Pittsburgh with ski boats, speed boats and houseboats. Sailing came later — around 2000, when his father took him out and he found it maddeningly slow. “Soon after that I got it,” he says. By 2005 he and his wife had moved their photography business to Florida with the intention of going sailing; before long the business closed and Cal became a broker, joining The Multihull Company.

What he flags as his differentiator is worth noting if you’re shopping a big cruising cat: he owns one. He speaks from the deck of Carpe Vita, the catamaran he and his wife have had for 15 years, and says he has done all the work on it himself — including repowering and the electrical systems. “I know how to fix catamarans,” he says. Most of his clients, he adds, are people he meets out on the water, where he works nearly every day.

Where the 570 sits today
The Lagoon 570 is a rare bird on the brokerage market, so context matters more than usual. Here are the figures YachtSite currently shows for the model:
| Metric | Figure |
|---|---|
| Sold, last 24 months | 1 |
| Median sold price | $540,000 |
| Median time to sell | ~91 days |
| Active listings | 1 (asking $145,000) |
| Inquiries, last 30 days | 6 (vs 1 prior 30) |
With interest in the model up sharply month over month and thin supply, a conversation with a broker who knows these boats from the inside out is a reasonable first move.
