S/V Littlest Hobo is a Fort Lauderdale, Florida, US based 2009 Fountaine Pajot Orana 44 For Sale By Broker. Responses to inquiries may come from a broker who is representing the owner as a fiduciary. This owner requires financial settlement only. No trades.

The Fountaine Pajot Orana 44 builds on the success of the Belize 43 with a refined, performance‑oriented catamaran that balances seaworthiness, comfort and smart construction. Designed by the Joubert/Nivelt team, the Orana 44 is equally at home on ocean passages and in high‑demand charter programs. Its low centre of gravity and generous sail plan — cited at 110 square feet — combine to deliver confident handling, good upwind ability and reassuring stability in adverse conditions while remaining responsive and enjoyable in lighter airs.

Modern manufacturing techniques underpin the boat’s strength and environmental credentials: a single‑piece hull infused with composite bulkheads and a deckhouse moulded using RTM eco‑technology. These methods produce a stiff, durable structure that contributes to safety, durability and a quieter onboard experience. The clean, sleek exterior lines are complemented by a rigid, integrated bimini and well‑proportioned forward volume that enhances seakeeping without compromising aesthetics.

On deck the innovative sliding bay creates a true open‑plan connection between saloon and cockpit, improving crew movement and comfort while maintaining safety underway. The ergonomic helm accommodates three people and groups primary sail and navigation controls together, offering excellent visibility over the deckhouse and intuitive access to manoeuvres for short‑handed or fully crewed sailing.

Below, the luminous interior emphasizes space and practicality. The galley opens directly onto the cockpit for effortless entertaining and watchkeeping. It is comprehensively equipped and features Fountaine Pajot’s well‑known “piano refrigerator,” ample preparation surfaces and storage, and a layout that supports serious cruising. The saloon offers panoramic vistas and a dining table that seats eight, with an additional sea‑facing card table for navigation or social use.

Accommodation is designed for privacy and comfort: each of the four cabins benefits from its own bathroom with a separate shower, and companionway sliding doors afford exceptional privacy for guests. In the Owner’s layout the primary suite is arranged with an island bed, while the remaining cabins feature semi‑island style berths to optimise space and access. A generous aft sunbathing deck provides a relaxed cockpit extension for leisure and socialising.

Overall, the Orana 44 is a technically refined, welcoming cruising catamaran that performs confidently offshore, is simple to handle for small crews, and offers a spacious, well‑appointed interior for extended cruising or charter operations. It is an attractive option for sailors seeking a modern, efficient and comfortable multihull.

Mark Wattrus

By Mark Wattrus

Born and raised on the coast of South Africa—home to some of the world’s premier catamaran builders—Mark Wattrus was immersed in the marine lifestyle from an early age. His passion for the ocean first took shape through freedive spearfishing, where he trained under world record holder Trevor Hutton. That deep connection with the sea would eventually shape a global career both on deck and behind the scenes in the yacht industry. At just 18, Mark was awarded a bursary to earn his 200-Ton Captain’s License, and by 19, he had already skippered a 50ft catamaran to Madagascar through the Mozambican channel. Over the next decade, he logged multiple transatlantic and Indian Ocean crossings, and served aboard both high-performance sailing yachts and luxury catamarans. His hands-on sailing experience spans expedition charters, dive programs, delivery passages, and private liveaboard charters in the Seychelles, Madagascar, East Africa, and throughout the Caribbean—often alongside his wife, Halle, a professionally trained yacht chef. Mark’s technical proficiency was shaped in part by time spent in engine rooms learning under an Argentinian marine engineer. That early mentorship sparked a broader interest in marine systems, leading him to work closely with boatyards, shipyards, and manufacturers. He has since overseen major refits, supervised complex repair work, and most recently, managed the design, build, and successful delivery of two 57ft catamarans—guiding each project from concept to completion. As a professional yacht broker, Mark has developed a trusted reputation for navigating complex transactions with discretion, clarity, and care. He has facilitated the sale and purchase of catamarans across multiple continents, working closely with international clients, legal teams, surveyors, insurers, and shipyards. His deep understanding of contracts, marine documentation, flagging, and tax considerations ensures a seamless experience for buyers and sellers alike. Mark also holds a degree in Marketing and wrote his final thesis whilst sailing across the South Atlantic with his Halle. Whether you're looking to purchase a performance cruising catamaran, sell a liveaboard-ready vessel, or enter the charter market, Mark’s global network and specialist knowledge make him a valuable partner at every stage of the process. Mark is now based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with his wife Halle and their daughter Lily. When not sailing or working with clients, the family enjoys hiking and spearfishing in remote destinations.
