Lagoon was created in 1984 inside Jeanneau, at a moment when French yards were pouring what they had learned from ocean-racing multihulls into boats meant for cruising. The design office was VPLP — Marc Van Peteghem and Vincent Lauriot Prévost, then a young partnership that would go on to draw the fastest offshore trimarans in the world — and that association has held for four decades since. When Groupe Beneteau acquired Jeanneau in 1995 Lagoon went with it, and the boats have been built at Bordeaux ever since.

What made Lagoon the most numerous name in cruising catamarans was never speed. It was the decision to treat interior volume as the point rather than the penalty: full-height bridgedeck saloons, hulls carried well forward, and an accommodation plan a family could actually live in at anchor. The 380, launched at the end of the 1990s, took that idea to its most successful conclusion and became the best-selling cruising catamaran ever built. On the larger boats the flybridge helm — which Lagoon did more than any other yard to make ordinary — put the wheel and the guests on the same level above the cockpit.

The modern range is a visible change of direction. Patrick le Quément, once head of design at Renault, brought the vertical hull windows and squared cabin profile that identify a Lagoon at a distance, while VPLP moved the rig aft, shrinking the headsail to a self-tacking jib and putting the work into a large square-topped mainsail. It is a rig built around two people handling the boat rather than a crew.

Lagoon also supplied the world’s charter fleets in volume for three decades, which is why it is the catamaran most sailors have stood aboard first, and why the same model is met both as a charter boat and as an owner’s version.

S/V Clapotis: A 2015 Lagoon 450F Living the Baja Life

Some boat videos walk you through every locker and pump. This one doesn’t. The clip for S/V Clapotis, a 2015 Lagoon 450F (hull #389), is a music-led montage — original tracks “Gettin’ Marinated” and “Son of a Beach” by Jason Zinsmeister — set to scenes of life aboard. It opens on “Day 2, waking up in Baja Sur,” coffee in hand, and never really leaves that register: warm light, palm trees, the water, and the easy rhythm of a boat being used rather than stored.…

2015 Lagoon 450F: S/V Clapotis Comes to Market

Some walkthrough videos talk you through every locker; this one simply plays a song. The footage accompanying S/V Clapotis is set to music rather than commentary, so rather than guess at what the camera passes over, here are the facts as listed. What’s on offer She’s a 2015 Lagoon 450F — hull #389 — measuring 45 feet, offered through Paul on YachtSite.com. The “F” designation is the meaningful part: this is the flybridge version of Lagoon’s best-selling mid-size cruising catamaran, with the helm and lounging area raised above the coachroof rather than tucked to one side.…

S/V Clapotis: A 2015 Lagoon 450F Cruising Catamaran

The video accompanying this listing plays more like a cruising highlight reel — a soundtrack over sunlit anchorages, with place names like Isla del Carmen drifting past — than a narrated tour. It sets a mood rather than a spec sheet, so rather than guess at what the camera glides over, here is what we can say with confidence about the boat itself. The boat S/V Clapotis is a 2015 Lagoon 450F — hull #389 — measuring 45 feet. The “F” denotes the flybridge version of Lagoon’s best-known mid-size cruising catamaran, the layout that places the helm and a social lounging area up top, above and behind the coachroof, leaving the cockpit and saloon uninterrupted below.…

Inside S/V Stray Cats: A Heavily Upgraded Lagoon 450 F

Most owner tours dwell on cushions and countertops. The technical walkthrough of S/V Stray Cats, a 2016 Lagoon 450 F offered by Jannelle, goes the other way: it opens in the rig, works its way through the solar array and lithium bank, and finishes in the bilges talking about thru-hulls. If you’re shopping this platform seriously, it’s the video you want. A rig that rewrites the 450 F routine The headline modification is a Leisure Furl Passagemaker boom furler in place of the standard main and sail bag.…

Aboard S/V Stray Cats: A Cruiser-Ready 2016 Lagoon 450F

Some catamarans reveal themselves slowly. Others tell you everything in the first thirty seconds. S/V Stray Cats, a 2016 Lagoon 450 F presented by Jannelle, falls into the second camp: a walkthrough of her fit and finish quickly becomes a catalogue of small, considered decisions made by owners who have actually lived aboard. The numbers first. She measures 45 feet 10 inches with a 25-foot 6-inch beam and a 75-foot 6-inch mast, laid out in the four-cabin, four-head configuration. She is the flybridge version of the 450 — the “F” — and, importantly for buyers wary of ex-fleet boats, she has never been chartered and has never been through a hurricane.…

Aboard Sand Dollar: A 2023 Lagoon 46 Walkthrough

Some catamaran tours race through the highlights. This one, led by Martina from the Lagoon product marketing team, takes its time — and the result is one of the more useful walkthroughs a prospective Lagoon 46 buyer can watch. The boat in question here is Sand Dollar, a 2023 Lagoon 46 listed by broker Staley Weidman, and the video covers essentially every corner of the design, from the anchor locker to the flybridge sunpad. Starting at the bow The tour opens in the forward cockpit, which Lagoon treats as a genuine living space rather than an afterthought.…

S/V Spartan: A Lagoon 440 Rebuilt 1.2 Tons Lighter

Most refits are cosmetic. This one is structural. S/V Spartan, a 2006 Lagoon 440 listed at 46 feet, has spent the better part of a year under the hands of Moshe, who set out to answer a question production catamaran owners have been asking for decades: what would it take to turn a well-loved cruising platform into a genuinely stiff, genuinely fast blue water boat? His answer was subtraction. As Moshe explains on camera, virtually every piece of interior joinery that was once wood has been replaced with honeycomb composite — material he describes as weighing roughly 10% of the timber it replaces.…

Aboard S/V Reunited: A Cruise-Ready 2017 Lagoon 42

Valerie Toomey of The Multihull Company opens her walkthrough of S/V Reunited with the detail that frames the whole boat: over $55,000 in upgrades, aimed squarely at blue water cruising. This 2017 Lagoon 42 is the Owner Version, and the tour makes clear it has been set up by people who actually use it. Rig and sailing setup The mast has been shortened to allow ICW access — a meaningful practical choice for East Coast cruisers who would rather not detour offshore around fixed bridges.…

S/V FUTUNA: A 2004 Lagoon 570 and the Broker Behind It

Some listing videos walk you bow to stern. This one does something different: it introduces you to the person on the other end of the phone. Cal, the broker representing the 2004 Lagoon 570 S/V FUTUNA, films from the water in West Palm Beach and spends a few candid minutes explaining how he got here. The short version: he grew up on the rivers around Pittsburgh with ski boats, speed boats and houseboats. Sailing came later — around 2000, when his father took him out and he found it maddeningly slow.…

Aboard a 2019 Lagoon 42 Owner’s Version in Baltimore

Some cruising catamarans get popular because they sail well; others because they live well. The Lagoon 42 has managed both, and that combination — along with systems that a couple can actually manage without a full-time engineer aboard — is what Bill Regan of Catamaran Central highlights at the top of his walkthrough of this 2019 Lagoon 42 Owner’s Version. The headline gear list is long and genuinely cruising-focused: a large solar array, a lithium-ion battery bank, a Sea Recovery watermaker, an AB dinghy with a 20-horsepower outboard, twin Yanmar 57-horsepower diesels, an upgraded Cummins Onan 13.5 kW generator, folding props, a full suite of cruising sails, a brand-new anchor chain and a regalvanized anchor that, as Regan puts it, has never touched the bottom.…

Aboard a 2019 Lagoon 42 Owner’s Version in Baltimore

The Lagoon 42 has become one of the most recognizable cruising catamarans afloat for good reason: it blends genuine sailing performance with accommodations that feel far larger than 42 feet, and it does it with systems a couple can actually manage. In this walkthrough, broker Bill Regan of Catamaran Central tours a 2019 example — S/V Lagoon 42, an Owner’s Version lying in Baltimore, Maryland — and the pitch is straightforward: this is a boat that has already been outfitted for long-range cruising rather than one that still needs to be.…

Aboard S/V Blue Octane: A 2019 Lagoon 52F in Five-Cabin Trim

Some boats reveal their logic slowly. The 2019 Lagoon 52F S/V Blue Octane makes her case in the first thirty seconds of Wiley Sharp’s walkthrough, when he admits the five-cabin arrangement is his favorite layout on the 52. She has spent her working life as a fully crewed charter yacht in the Virgin Islands, and Sharp frames her future two ways: continue in charter, or serve as a cruising platform for a family that wants space without the burden of a much bigger boat.…

Aboard S/V Solis I: A Liveaboard-Ready Lagoon 380 S2

Some boat tours are about polished joinery. This one, led by seller David through S/V Solis I, is about how a 2014 Lagoon 380 S2 actually works when people live on it full time. The camera moves through the bridgedeck saloon and down the port hull, and every stop reveals a practical decision someone made after real time at anchor. A galley built for cooking, not just heating The tour begins in the main cabin at the galley, where there’s both a gas hob and a separate electric induction top — plus an extra section of bench that sits over the gas hob to expand the counter when you’re not cooking.…

Aboard S/V Solis I: A Cruise-Ready 2014 Lagoon 380 S2

Some boat tours are about brochure gloss. This one, filmed on deck aboard the 2014 Lagoon 380 S2 S/V Solis I, is about how a cruising catamaran actually gets used — where the paddleboards live, how the outboard comes off the dinghy before an offshore passage, and why every locker matters when you’re a long way from a chandlery. Forward decks: storage where it counts The walkthrough begins at the bows. The starboard locker is the toy box — paddleboards, snorkel gear, a spare trampoline and a lounging mattress that floats, so it can be tossed over the side at anchor.…

S/V Pivot: A Rare Four-Cabin Lagoon 500 Set Up for Family Life

Some walkthroughs open with a spec sheet. This one opens with storage. Standing aboard S/V Pivot, a 2009 Lagoon 500, brokers Brandon and Amber of The Cruisers Company keep coming back to the same idea: this 51-footer feels more like a home than a boat. Having lived aboard their own sailboat for four years with four kids, they know exactly which details matter after the honeymoon period ends — and where cruisers run out of room. The galley sits up in the saloon, but the storage story continues down the steps, where a full counter with cabinetry hosts appliances, a freezer and a washing machine.…

Aboard S/V Wisdom: A 2023 Lagoon 50 Built for Family Cruising

Filmed at anchor in Georgetown, Bahamas, this walkthrough of S/V Wisdom comes with a rare credential: the person showing you around has cruised alongside her. Broker Will Marks describes hundreds — maybe thousands — of miles shared with the family aboard this 2023 Lagoon 50, plus countless anchorages and evenings in her cockpit. That familiarity shows in the tour, which skips the brochure language and goes straight to the details that matter when a catamaran is also your home. Flybridge first The tour opens on what Marks calls the boat’s best feature: the flybridge.…

Aboard S/V Reunited: a 2017 Lagoon 42 Owner Version

In her walkthrough of S/V Reunited, Valerie Toomey of The Multihull Company introduces a 2017 Lagoon 42 Owner Version that has been prepared with a clear purpose: blue-water cruising with a short-handed crew. The tour highlights more than $55,000 in upgrades, and several of them speak directly to the way this boat has been used. The most consequential is the rig. The mast was shortened to allow ICW access — a meaningful convenience for anyone running the Intracoastal Waterway — and paired with a new roach mainsail that adds sail area back to help preserve performance.…

Aboard M/Y Herkee: A Solar-Powered Lagoon 380 Custom PC

Some boats are sold on their brochure specs. This 2004 Lagoon 380 Custom PC, named M/Y Herkee, is sold on the thousands of small decisions her owners made while actually living aboard her. The walkthrough video is exactly that: an unhurried, hatch-by-hatch tour narrated by someone who clearly knows where every wire runs. The headline change is under the sole. The original Volvo 28/30-horsepower engines are gone, replaced by a pair of Yanmar 3JH40s with Yanmar SD60 saildrives and custom exhaust — work carried out by Urbana Boatworks, which owns Remlik Marina where the video was filmed.…

New 2026 Lagoon 38: Big-Boat Cruising in 38 Feet

Presented by The Multihull Company, this 2026 Lagoon 38—listed as S/V Hull #66—is introduced in the video as one of the newest members of the Lagoon family, and pointedly not a base boat. The walkthrough’s guide, a captain and instructor, frames it as a catamaran specified with many of the most desirable factory options, aimed equally at weekend anchorage hopping and serious offshore cruising. Cockpit, helm and the indoor-outdoor connection The first thing noted on stepping aboard is the new stern extensions, which make boarding notably easier, along with the warm wooden cockpit sole that adds grip and a premium finish.…

2020 Lagoon 450S ‘S/V ALOHA’: A Cruise-Ready Cat, Refreshed

Step aboard S/V ALOHA and the first thing you notice is how thoughtfully she’s been kept. This 2020 Lagoon 450S, offered by Jeff, is a cruising catamaran that’s clearly been used the way she was designed to be used — and updated where it counts. Command and Control ALOHA’s helm sits in a fully enclosed station, tucked out of the weather, which the owner points out helps preserve the electronics — particularly the touchscreen. The nav suite is current: a B&G Zeus chartplotter installed new in 2023, paired with a Halo radar added just this past March.…

2018 Lagoon 42 Owner’s Version: S/V Aquaholic

The Lagoon 42 has become one of the most recognizable cruising catamarans on the water today, and S/V Aquaholic — a 2018 owner’s version — is a strong example of why. Walking through the boat on video, it’s clear this hull has been outfitted with serious offshore cruising in mind, from the sail handling systems at the helm to the power generation below. Helm and Sail Handling The raised starboard helm offers clear sightlines to all four corners of the boat, with running rigging led aft through Spinlock clutches to a pair of electric Harken winches.…

Aboard S/V Nomada: A Refitted Lagoon 620 Built for Charter

Caroline Laviolette of The Multihull Company welcomes viewers aboard S/V Nomada, a 2014 Lagoon 620 that has been transformed by a comprehensive 2023 refit commissioned by a prestigious hotel group. The result is a six-cabin, six-head catamaran with hospitality-grade finishes, MCA certification already in hand, and enough thoughtful upgrades to slot straight back into charter service. A Saloon and Galley Rebuilt for Entertaining Step into the main deck and the refit’s fingerprints are everywhere. Thick, name-brand designer upholstery wraps custom seating around teak tables that adjust electrically between coffee and dining heights.…

2017 Lagoon 42 ‘Blue Pearl Too’: Off-Grid Cat, Kemah TX

Chris Block of The Multihull Company walks us through S/V Blue Pearl Too, a 2017 Lagoon 42 hull number 103 now for sale in Kemah, Texas — the self-styled catamaran capital of the Gulf Coast, just south of Houston. This four-cabin, four-head charter-layout cat spent its early years crewed-charter in the Mediterranean, was purchased by a private owner who cruised the Med, then made the transatlantic delivery under her own power to Texas. With the owner now back in Europe and his sailing plans behind him, Block describes the seller as very motivated.…

2023 Lagoon 46 S/V DAKITI: Owner-Kept, Off-Grid Ready

Some catamarans arrive on the brokerage market with a story worth telling, and S/V DAKITI is one of them. This 2023 Lagoon 46, presented by Captain Paco Montaner of The Multihull Company in Puerto Rico, is an owner-operated, never-chartered example that has been meticulously maintained from delivery. In a segment where charter-fleet boats dominate, that alone makes her stand apart. A Cockpit and Flybridge Built for Living Step aboard and the cockpit sets the tone: teak flooring, a wide, open layout, and a seamless connection into the salon that delivers the indoor-outdoor lifestyle Lagoon has become known for.…

2014 Lagoon 39 ‘S/V Cecil’: Turnkey Cruising Catamaran

The 2014 Lagoon 39 S/V Cecil is presented as a genuinely turnkey cruising catamaran — a four-cabin, two-head layout that has been methodically brought up to modern off-grid standards. For buyers weighing the jump from coastal sailing to extended cruising, this boat’s story is really about the systems behind the layout. A 2024 Electrical Refit Built for Off-Grid Life The headline upgrade is a comprehensive 2024 electrical overhaul. Lithium batteries, bifacial solar panels, high-output alternators, and a full suite of Victron electronics work together to keep Cecil self-sufficient at anchor.…

2020 Lagoon 42 ‘Sweet Sweet Life’: A Fully-Optioned Owner’s Version

In a quick walkthrough for The Multihull Company, Conor Dugan introduces S/V Sweet Sweet Life, a 2020 owner’s-version Lagoon 42 that arrives on the market with what he describes as “pretty much every option ticked.” For anyone shortlisting a cruising catamaran under 45 feet, this hull deserves a close look. Equipment That Matters The Lagoon 42 has become one of the most popular mid-size cruising cats of the past decade, and this example leans into that reputation with a genuinely useful equipment list.…

2013 Lagoon 421 ‘Road Less Traveled’: Cruise-Ready in Panama

Some boats earn their names. S/V Road Less Traveled, a 2013 Lagoon 421 currently lying in Panama’s Bocas del Toro Archipelago, has clearly been living up to hers — and she’s been thoughtfully upgraded to keep doing so. Presented by broker Bill Regan, this four-cabin cat is a serious cruising platform that has already made the leaps most owners only dream about. Systems Built for Distance The equipment list reads like a checklist for going anywhere: 2,000 watts of solar spread across five large panels on the hardtop, 1,120 amp-hours of lithium house bank, a 35-gallon-per-hour Cruise RO watermaker tucked under a port-hull berth, and new standing rigging installed in 2021 — the shiny turnbuckles are still gleaming in the video.…

S/V Curvy Mermaid: A 2017 Lagoon 42 Ready to Roam

The Lagoon 42 has become one of the most successful cruising catamarans of the last decade, and S/V Curvy Mermaid, a 2017 example presented by Will Miller, shows why. In a brief but telling walkthrough, the boat’s calling cards come through immediately: light, space, and warmth. A Salon That Feels Like Home Step inside and the salon is bathed in natural light, courtesy of the Lagoon 42’s signature vertical windows and generous glazing. The teak decking underfoot and quality upholstery lend the interior a settled, residential feel — this is a catamaran that invites long passages and longer stays at anchor.…

2012 Lagoon 450F ‘Monaco Blue’: Bahamas-Ready Cruiser

With more than 800 hulls built over its production run, the Lagoon 450 became one of the most successful cruising catamarans of its generation — a design that continues to earn respect in bluewater circles. S/V Monaco Blue, a 2012 Lagoon 450F, is a particularly well-sorted example of the breed, currently based in the Bahamas and presented by Bill Regan of Catamaran Central. Cockpit and Living Spaces Originally delivered in Croatia, Monaco Blue came equipped for varied climates: her cockpit enclosure has both a summer configuration and a set of winter panels for cooler passages or shoulder-season cruising.…

S/V Drimorthiles: A Cruise-Ready 2016 Lagoon 450F

Presented by Joshua at Blue Yonder Yachts, S/V Drimorthiles is a 2016 Lagoon 450F that has been lived on, loved on, and steadily improved across 12,000 nautical miles of Pacific Mexico cruising. Her owners spent seven to eight months a year aboard, sailing from Zihuatanejo up into the Sea of Cortez as far as Bahía de los Ángeles, and the boat’s condition reflects that hands-on stewardship — professional maintenance, thoughtful upgrades, and a long list of extras that would take a new owner years to assemble.…

2016 Lagoon 450 S ‘Perseverance Too’: A Turn-Key World Cruiser

Mike Rybas of The Multihull Company welcomes us aboard S/V Perseverance Too, a 2016 Lagoon 450 S set up with the systems — and the sails — for extended off-grid cruising. From the moment you step aboard, it’s clear the previous owners invested in the details that matter to voyagers who actually go. Energy independence is the headline. More than 3,300 watts of solar feed a Victron charge-controlled system, backed up by a low-hour generator. Freshwater is equally redundant, with a new SeaWater Pro watermaker paired with a Spectra 12-volt unit — so hoses stay coiled and tanks stay full.…

2017 Lagoon 450 F ‘Hope’: An Owner’s Version Built for Voyaging

Some cruising catamarans are built for weekends, and some are built to disappear over the horizon. S/V Hope, a 2017 Lagoon 450 F Owner’s Version currently lying in St. Thomas, is clearly the latter. Walked through by Captain Will Miller of The Multihull Company, this boat has been reworked with the kind of systems upgrades that matter once you leave the marina behind. A Flybridge Platform, Ready to Sail At just under 46 feet with a 25-foot beam, the Lagoon 450 remains one of the most successful cruising cats ever built, and the F model’s elevated flybridge is its signature feature.…

2007 Lagoon 500 ‘S/V Physalia’: A Cruiser Reimagined

Few production catamarans wear their upgrades as convincingly as S/V Physalia, a 2007 Lagoon 500 that broker Austen J. Anderson of South Florida Sailing walks through in detail. What began as a proven five-cabin cruising cat has been methodically modernized — mechanically, electrically, and structurally — into a boat that feels engineered for real long-range life aboard. A Flybridge Built for Real Life The most immediate visual change is up top. A custom 16-by-13-foot stainless steel bimini stretches well beyond the factory footprint, shading a flybridge that can comfortably host up to ten adults.…

2014 Lagoon 620 ‘S/V Phoenicia’: A Custom, Never-Chartered World Cruiser

Among Lagoon 620s on the market, S/V Phoenicia stands apart for a simple reason: she’s never been in charter. Broker Caroline Laviolette makes the point up front in her walkthrough, and the details that follow bear it out. This is a privately owned, custom-optioned 2014 boat that has clearly been built up for long-range cruising rather than turned over week to week. Sailing systems built for shorthanded miles The headline upgrade is in-boom furling paired with a carbon canoe boom — a rare setup on a 620, and one that transforms mainsail handling for a couple or small crew.…

2014 Lagoon 400 S2 ‘S/V Voyager’: A Proven Cruising Cat

Few production catamarans have earned the following that the Lagoon 400 enjoys, and S/V VOYAGER, a 2014 Lagoon 400 S2 presented by Zee Kalinic from Malinska on the Croatian island of Krk, shows why. The 400 S2 became one of Lagoon’s best-selling models for a reason: private owners praise the balance and comfort, while charter managers respect the reliability, easy sail handling, and straightforward maintenance. Cockpit and Deck The aft cockpit flows seamlessly into the saloon, forming one large connected social space with shaded seating, two tables, and easy access to the water through both transoms.…

First Look: The All-New Lagoon 38 Unveiled in Bordeaux

Will Miller of The Multihull Company sends a brief but noteworthy dispatch from Bordeaux, France, where Lagoon has just unveiled the all-new Lagoon 38. While the video itself is little more than a first-look teaser, the moment matters: a fresh entry-level cruising catamaran from one of the most recognizable names in multihull sailing is stepping into the spotlight. The Lagoon 38 slots in as a compact, approachable cat aimed at owner-operators and charter-minded sailors who want the space and stability of two hulls without moving up to a much larger platform.…

2023 Lagoon 55 Walkthrough: A Fully Loaded Bluewater Cat

Broker Zee Kalinic welcomes us aboard S/V Lagoon 55, a 2023-build catamaran that was delivered only a few months before filming and has already crossed the Atlantic under her own sails. What stands out immediately isn’t just her newness — it’s how comprehensively she was optioned from the factory. Sail and Systems Package She carries the Hydranet pack of sails, the latest B&G navigation suite with a 16-inch Zeus multifunction display at the helm, a TV rod lift, a Fusion entertainment system with multi-zone audio, and more.…

2021 Lagoon 50 ‘S/V Shadow’: A Modern Cruising Cat

The Lagoon 50 has quickly become one of the defining owner-version catamarans of its generation, and S/V Shadow, a 2021 build presented by Zee Kalinic, is a compelling example of the model in its current form. While the walkthrough video is brief — an on-camera welcome from Zee before handing the tour over to the boat itself — the platform beneath it is well known, and this particular hull is worth a closer look for anyone shopping the segment. The Lagoon 50 in Brief At 50 feet, the Lagoon 50 sits in the sweet spot of the builder’s cruising range — big enough for extended offshore passages and true liveaboard comfort, yet still manageable for an experienced couple with occasional crew.…

2018 Lagoon 630 MY ‘Philotimo’: A Rare Power Cat Offering

The Lagoon 630 MY has always occupied a distinctive niche in the power catamaran world: a full-beam motor yacht from a builder better known for sailing multihulls, offering the space, stability, and long-range comfort that discerning cruisers seek. M/Y Philotimo, a 2018 example currently listed by Chesnee Cogswell, brings that proposition to a market where availability is exceptionally thin. A 63-Foot Motor Yacht Built for Space At 63 feet with the twin-hull architecture Lagoon is known for, the 630 MY delivers interior volume closer to a monohull ten or fifteen feet longer.…

2023 Lagoon Seventy 7 ‘Maty’: A Rare Flagship Catamaran

The Lagoon Seventy 7 sits at the very top of the French builder’s catamaran range, and the 2023 example known as Maty represents one of the newest examples of the flagship to reach the brokerage market. At 77 feet on deck, this is a yacht designed to blur the line between a private cruising catamaran and a small superyacht — with the wide-beam volume, multiple social zones, and long-range presence that only a hull of this size can deliver. A Flagship in Short Supply While the video walkthrough for Maty is presented as a musical showcase rather than a narrated tour, the visuals speak to what buyers already know about the Seventy 7: enormous flybridge real estate, an aft cockpit that flows seamlessly into the main saloon, and forward lounging areas that transform the foredeck into a private terrace over the water.…

2008 Lagoon 420 ‘Apres Sea’: A Thoughtfully Upgraded Cat

Tied up at Pier 7 Marina in Edgewater, Maryland, Apres Sea is a 2008 Lagoon 420 that has clearly been cared for by owners who sweat the details. In his walkthrough, Annapolis Yacht Sales broker Brent Hermann highlights the little things that separate a truly well-kept catamaran from a stock brokerage listing — from refreshed cushions and countertops to handwritten owner’s notes left throughout the boat. Deck, Cockpit and Ground Tackle Up forward, the trampoline seating area is set up for lounging under sail, with a Rocna anchor as the primary hook backed up by a Danforth.…

2012 Lagoon 560 ‘Worth The Wait’: A Turnkey Bluewater Cat

Few luxury cruising catamarans command the loyalty of the Lagoon 560, and among the handful on the market, S/V Worth The Wait stands apart. Captain Will Miller of The Multihull Company walks prospective buyers through this 2012 Lagoon 560 in Fernandina Beach, Florida — a two-owner boat whose maintenance and upgrade log reads more like a refit than a service history. Mechanical Peace of Mind Below the waterline, the yacht received new rudders, rudder posts, and rudder bearings in October 2022, followed by fresh shaft seals, shaft bearings, and motor mounts in June 2025 — the kind of milestones that typically loom large on a survey.…

Aboard S/V Dreamin’: A Well-Traveled Lagoon 37 TPI

Filmed dockside in Fort Pierce, Florida, this walkthrough of S/V Dreamin’ — a 1995 Lagoon 37 TPI (built in partnership with Jeanneau) — is less a polished sales reel than a candid tour by an owner who has just crossed an ocean on her. That context matters: nearly every upgrade aboard exists because someone lived with it in a seaway. Deck and Rig: Built for the Trade Winds The tour opens on the foredeck, where green hoses feed rainwater from the hardtop straight into the water tanks — a small but telling detail from a cruiser who has learned to harvest what Florida (and the tropics) throws down.…

Lagoon 380 Review with Toast of S/V Don Quixote

Diane talked with Toast for a review on the Lagoon 380, a well known design that was a workhorse of charter fleets for the last two decades. She and her family sailed a 2001 Lagoon 380 Owners Version named S/V Don Quixote for about six years. They started in Seattle with three little children and then ended up in New Zealand several years later with much bigger children. It felt really tiny in the beginning and by the time we moved out the kids were willing to move into basically a fender locker.…

Jeanneau Lagoon 35 CCC Review

What does Jeanneau want the world to think with the acronym of “CCC” In the title? It’s the Coastal Cruising Catamaran. That’s it. Jeanneau was so transparent about the capabilities of their new cat, that they put it in the title. Thinking about racing to Bermuda? Look elsewhere. Designed by notorious sailing and design guru’s, Gino Morrelli and Pete Melvin (America’s Cup & Olympics), they chose performance over comfort. To understand the boat, I really needed a quick history lesson on Jeanneau’s production timeline.…

Lagoon 42 Review: Week Charter in Antigua

My wife and I took 5 friends down to Antigua this year to do some quantitative easing in that fine country. This review of our boat, the Lagoon 42, is based on my experience showing and moving them in Lauderdale as well as from this 7 day charter with Dream Yachts out of Jolly Harbor. Let me get this done with at the start. Lagoons are not the highest quality catamarans. They or as a close second to Fountaine Pajot might be near the bottom of quality for mass production catamarans depending on the model.…

Lagoon 440 Review: Delivery to Annapolis

I wish I could take delivery of every yacht I review here, but I am usually restricted to a short seatrial at best. Hearing from owners the qualities of a vessel is one thing, but experiencing them yourself makes the unique qualities more vivid and altogether leads to a superior review. I hope that is the case here as I am still yearning to be offshore after my 12 day delivery of a Lagoon 440 catamaran from Venice Isle, Fort Lauderdale to Gibson Island, Annapolis.…
