{"id":188,"count":63,"description":"The Lagoon 46 has replaced the Lagoon 450.  The latest boat from the Lagoon shipyard, a 46-foot catamaran whose 2020 model has the difficult task of replacing one of the best-sellers in the history of the yard, the much-loved Lagoon 450. The new Lagoon 46 promises to be a seaworthy boat with an enhanced sail plan for a better sail area\/displacement ratio which gives better performance under sail. The 46 also offers the aft-rig (dear to naval architects VPLP) which helps with sail handling maneuvers and provides a large fore-triangle which offers a wide choice of headsails that gives a real boost to your Lagoon.\r\nOn board the new Lagoon 46, luxury is not just an impression. luxury is space, the result of enlightened design that pushes back cruising boundaries. Designed in the spirit of the new Lagoon generation, the 46 footer forms a natural bridge between land and sea.  As on all of Lagoon's new-generation catamarans, the 46\u2019s rigging comes directly from VPLP design\u2019s research and its more than 30 years\u2019 experience at the peak of multi-hull ocean racing.\r\nBetter performance:  Bringing the mast further aft reduces the length of the boom, increases the mainsail aspect ratio and thus its efficiency.  The fore triangle incorporates a jib for sailing to windward as well as several downwind sails. Centering the masses limits pitching and eases the boat\u2019s motion.\r\nEasier: The reduced size of the boom facilitates handling.  The large jib sail is self-tacking, so there is no need to touch anything when tacking.","link":"https:\/\/www.yachtsite.com\/brand\/lagoon-46\/","name":"Lagoon 46","slug":"lagoon-46","taxonomy":"brand","parent":72,"meta":[],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.yachtsite.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/brand\/188","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.yachtsite.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/brand"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.yachtsite.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/taxonomies\/brand"}],"up":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.yachtsite.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/brand\/72"}],"wp:post_type":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.yachtsite.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/reference?brand=188"},{"href":"https:\/\/www.yachtsite.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/yachts-for-sale?brand=188"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
