In keeping with modern trends, the hull and deck is a composite of Divinycell, balsa core and quadriaxial glass, hand-laid and vacuum-bagged.  Unlike most large catamarans the Dean 400 is built in one piece - the hulls - bridgedeck and cockpit - deck - and boasts a solid laminate below the waterline.
