You\u2019ll discover that these boats have a reputation as a fast and safe boat for blue water cruising. \r\n\r\nThe Catana 39 offers accommodation for up to eight in four double cabins; two queen doubles in the midships cabins and two over\/under single bunks in the forward cabins. Two heads aft of the companionways with stand-up engine rooms aft of the heads. A well appointed Mahogany interior features a large salon area that seats 6 to 8, galley up model. True to its performance lineage, this Catana 39 is equipped with daggerboards to enhance upwind performance and tiller steering (positioned outboard on the hulls) for precision handling. The steering stations provide an excellent view of the sailplan and immediate access to sheets, halyards and reefing lines. These features and a Crowther hull line with good wingdeck clearance offer unmatched performance in a cruising cat of this size. \r\n\r\nIt\u2019s relatively simple design and layout make it an efficient and fast sailing catamaran.  Hits speeds in the 9 knot range and often averages 8 knots.
