{"id":644,"count":6,"description":"The Catalina 36 Mk II is a version of Frank Butler\u2019s Catalina 36 line that is frequently cited for a combination of practical interior space and capable sailing behavior. Listings and owner reports for Mk II examples emphasize light, spacious, and versatile interiors alongside sailing characteristics that are described as impressive and easy to handle. The model\u2019s layout and accommodation patterns are commonly used by cruisers who want a balance between liveaboard comfort and manageable sailing systems.\n\nIndividual boats illustrate how owners adapt the platform for cruising. One Mk II example, Tish, has had a custom storage cabinet installed beneath the chart table and is described as having extensive upgrades carried out by the current owners to suit their Chesapeake Bay cruising. Another listed example, ESCAPADE, is presented as a single-owner Mk II with low hours and an immaculate interior, reflecting continuous care and maintenance. These listings underline how owner investment in cabinetry, systems and upkeep can materially affect the condition and usefulness of a Catalina 36 Mk II for its next owner.\n\nPractically, the Mk II is represented in listings as well suited to Chesapeake Bay sailing while remaining capable of coastal passages and island hopping when prepared for offshore work. Reviews and broker descriptions point to ease of handling for short-handed crews as one of the model\u2019s operational strengths. When evaluating a Catalina 36 Mk II, attention to owner-altered fitments, recent upgrades, and documented engine hours or maintenance history is often decisive in assessing a particular boat\u2019s readiness for the kind of cruising it will be used for.","link":"https:\/\/www.yachtsite.com\/brand\/catalina-36\/","name":"Catalina 36","slug":"catalina-36","taxonomy":"brand","parent":643,"meta":[],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.yachtsite.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/brand\/644","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.yachtsite.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/brand"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.yachtsite.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/taxonomies\/brand"}],"up":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.yachtsite.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/brand\/643"}],"wp:post_type":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.yachtsite.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/reference?brand=644"},{"href":"https:\/\/www.yachtsite.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/yachts-for-sale?brand=644"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
