Dean 400 Catamarans For Sale

The Dean 400 was a new direction for Dean Catamarans. This fast 40-foot cruising catamaran for sale by owner signals the new trend in aerodynamic detailing, while matching performance with unequaled accommodation in well-styled, high-volume hulls. Dean Catamarans have drawn on their experience of constructing over 90 production catamarans to create a new boat that is fast, easy and comfortable to sail.
The Dean 400 has a reverse asymmetric hull shape, meaning the wave build-up in the tunnel is significantly reduced. Bridgedeck clearance is a minimum of 800 mm rising to 1.2 meters at the stern, and the inside of each hull features a wave turnover flare further reducing the likelihood of pounding. In keeping with modern trends, the hull and deck is a composite of Divinycell, balsa core and quadriaxial glass, hand-laid and vacuum-bagged. Unlike most large catamarans the Dean 400 is built in one piece – the hulls – bridgedeck and cockpit – deck – and boasts a solid laminate below the waterline. As a result both hull and deck are light and tough.
