St Francis has been advertised with the highest percentage of circumnavigated hulls of any major manufacturer. Founded by Duncan Lethbridge in 1991 in South Africa. First design was the 43 by Angelo Lavranos followed by famous 44 foot extended version in 1994 and 48 foot version in 2002. Tooling for the 44 was sold to Knysna in 2004 and production focused on 48 footer (later extended to 50 feet) Lavranos design. In 2019 Rob Brennan from Robertson and Caine took over day to day management and a power catamaran is planned.
